LORD 1110

Main features

  • Low-Density Epoxy Foam
  • Extended Working Time
  • High Compressive Strength

Product Description

LORD 1110 A/B Syntactic Foam is a modified epoxy syntactic foam system formulated for applications requiring low density, high compressive strength, and extended working time. The two-component material mixes at a 100:50 weight ratio and produces a non-sag white paste suitable for vertical application and gap-filling. It cures at room temperature or with accelerated heat cure, providing flexibility for manufacturing processes. Once cured, the foam can be shaped by sanding, drilling, or cutting, making it suitable for applications where lightweight structural support and machinability are important considerations.

Key features

  • Low-density epoxy foam: Mixed density of 600–700 kg/m³ helps reduce overall assembly weight while maintaining structural performance.
  • Extended working time: Provides approximately 60 minutes of working time at 25°C, supporting complex application and assembly processes.
  • High compressive strength: Delivers compressive strengths up to 9000 psi (62.1 MPa) when heat cured, supporting demanding structural applications.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Lightweight structural filling applications
  • Vertical gap-filling and contour-forming operations
  • Assemblies requiring machinable cured foam
  • Applications where low density and high compressive strength are important evaluation criteria

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
